We rallied a tourism town around a single vertical, robotics, then built everything the bet required: recurring gatherings that made experimentation normal, a 25-years-vacant Elks building reborn as the 34,000 ft² Innovation Den, a robotics MOU joining Kootenai Health, Jobs Plus, and the University of Idaho, and workforce programs like Inspire Idaho that took the model statewide with U of Idaho and Apple's curriculum.
Ten years later the agenda we championed is institutional: a university robotics research center with PhD students and 20+ robots sits on the community college campus, and the city ranks #7 among Milken's best-performing small cities, top 10 every year since 2022.
