We have one mission at the Innovation Collective, help everyone in the world understand and prepare for the future of work. We believe that "work" as it was traditionally known, repetitive tasks, is for machines. Humans come alive and are most fulfilled when they can contribute to the creation of something meaningful. This can be a piece of art, a story, a new technology or a one of a kind tree house.
However, building a shiny new innovation building, getting a federal grant for a new college program, and recruiting a new corporation to relocate to your town will not fix the future of work. "Clusters" are a great idea, but only when you first have an authentic and inclusive community can they really have the impact everyone hopes for.
Our methodology focuses on first hosting a series of events in towns that inclusively engage citizens and encourage them to participate in building the life they truly desire. Through our inspiriational, educational, and tactical events we begin to gather a deeply engaged group of locals. Then we work with a broader swath of citizens, government, businesses, non-profits, and schools to gain an understanding of the town's past industries and economic success, determine a profitable niche around an exponential technology, and create a hyper focus on this new area of research and development that allows for participation from k-12 schools, colleges, corporations, and citizens.
As soon as we have a focused area of R and D we bring in industry experts from companies like Google, Itron, Boeing, Apple, and many more to help engage the community in their selected tech niche.
Finally, we continue to host our 77 events per year creating an ongoing community for entrepreneurs and local businesses to connect. By providing access to capital, mentoring, leadership training, and a network of other professionals from around the world, we create not just the support system for the future of work but a new kind of community. The result is a rebranded economy, activated humans and global experts supporting/mentoring the local innovation economy.
In the last few years we have seen technological breakthroughs the world had never thought possible, come out of cities that no one would have ever expected.
Welcome to the greatest opportunity of our time and a brave new world where we get to reimagine how we work and live.
